Crazy Classes

The Healer 3.5

The healer is a class that is in the Miniatures Hanbook for 3.5 edition. It is a very focused class which may not be appealing to many players. Theybare not useful in melee combat as they are the only divine classcthat really cant wear armour or use shields. However they can be useful flr the following reasons:

  1. In a war campaign with mass battles and large parties. This class is in the miniature book for that reason.
  2. A campaign that fights undead as cure spells hurt undead.
  3. A campagin with a DM using creatures and villians whom how likes poisioning or cursing players
  4. A party that has a lot of strong melee players and no magic users who need healing. As the healer wont be needed to do much combat
  5. In a gestault camapign with another class that uses wisdom and does not wear armour (example: healer druid)

There is always a way to use any class cleverly and be useful.

Advance Player Classes -Pathfinder

Whats interesting about the Advanced Players Guide is that the extra classes are not the same as Dungeons and Dragons. There core classes are the standard wizard fighter bard etc. However the equivilant to player handbook 2 does not have any classes seen in Dungeons and Dragons. Instead they have some really cool ones such as the Witch, Oracle, and Alchemist!

(The Cavlier)

It was nice to see them branching away from D&D as they are published by another company (paizo instead of wizards of the coast).

The Strange case of the Warmage

Miniature Handbook 3.5

Complete Arcane 3.5

The warmage appears in 2 books. Each has the same content word for word. I believe this is the only class that appears twice word for word in 2 different books! The only thing different is the image as seen above.  The warmage is an armoured mage meaning they take less of a arcane spell chance penalty from wearing armour. This means they can be more combative and not just focused on spells. A lot of classes appear multiple time but usually theu contain more rules,  magic or some other alterations to the class, expanding it. Thats what makes this 3.5 class so interesting and unique.
